A drum dryer is an indispensable piece of machinery in the woodworking industry. The sawdust produced by the manufacturing process of, for example, furniture can be used in the production of other items such as wood pellets, which have become increasingly popular over the last couple of decades as a sustainable energy for heating.

Drum dryer: producing wood pellets

If you want to turn wet sawdust into wood pellets to be used for heating, you have to dry the sawdust first. Our drum dryer ensures that after the cooling and drying process the sawdust has a moisture content of around 11 to 15 percent, which is ideal for pressing it into pellets or briquettes. By combining the functions of drying and cooling the drum dryer is thus an economical way of producing pellets.
